Acupuncture for Pain and Sports Trauma

Acupuncture is effective in the treatment of:

  • Ankle pain
  • Bell’s palsy
  • Bursitis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Contusions
  •  Facial Spasm
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)
  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain
  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Periarthritis of the shoulder
  • Post-herpetic neuralgia
  • Post-operative pain
  • Radicular and pseudoradicular pain syndrome
  • Rotator cuff syndrome
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Sciatica
  • Spine pain, acute and chronic
  • Sprain (muscle)
  • Stiff neck
  • Strain (ligaments)
  • Stroke
  • TMJ syndrome
  • Tendinitis
  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

Acupuncture provides effective relief and long-lasting benefits for post-operative pain, sports related trauma, muscular pain due to acute trauma, and repetitive stress. By stimulating the body to produce its own endorphins and anti-inflammatory hormones while relaxing the muscles around the area of trauma, acupuncture is a therapeutic option for back/knee/neck pain, sciatica, arthritis, or even crippling migraines.

Acupuncture can be more effective and vastly less dangerous than surgery, steroids, NSAIDs, injections, antidepressants, and anticonvulsant drugs to treat pain, with almost zero side effects or risk.  Acupuncture can:

  • Promote faster healing by improving blood flow to affected area
  • Lessen bruising
  • Reduce swelling and inflammation
  • Decrease/eliminate pain altogether
  • Increase the range of motion and flexibility of the affected joint
  • Decrease muscle spasm

How many treatments will I need?

This varies considerably based on the specific condition being treated. Each personUnknown receives an individualized treatment plan based on age, past medical history, lifestyle, treatment goals and current pain status. Generally speaking however, acute pain (less than 3 months duration) is often resolved in a short series of treatments spaced close together and chronic pain requires consistent regular treatment to achieve long-term pain relief.

After just four sessions with Daniel, my back pain is 80% gone. When I think that my sports medicine doctor prescribed a muscle relaxer without even doing a thorough checkup, I’m grateful that I got out of that loop. It’s awful that I haven’t been able to run in eight months, but now I feel confident I can get rid of my pain and get back to training. I really appreciated Daniel’s way of helping me understand the entire process. I felt taken care of, and that’s worth a lot to me.
