About Daniel R. Bernstein, L. Ac. CH

Daniel, a Doctor of Asian medicine and hypnotherapist, has practiced compassionate healing for 29 years, and has personally treated over thirty-five thousand patients over that time. While new patients stream in, many patients have been coming to him for a decade, or more. He loves getting referrals from those whom he helped for issues like insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety and lingering digestive issues. Others he helped had been dealing with difficult-to-shake emotional blocks, including cravings and addictions. A portion of his referrals come from Psychiatrists and Psychologists, who see him as an essential cog in the work when patients prefer not taking medications. In 2020 he became a published author after collating the experiences that he had gathered over the decades. His book, Rewired For Sleep: the 28-Day Insomnia Repair Program, available on Amazon, has received  very positive feedback and helped many people to get a full night’s rest.    Daniel did not start out as a healer, per se. He left behind a career in music, after an  acupuncturist successfully cured his chronic insomnia and anxiety. The revelation was so powerful that he soon entered a four-year graduate program in Chinese medicine, graduating in 1995. After a stint at an integrative pain management clinic, in 1998 he began treating sleep-related issues including PTSD, as well as anxiety and insomnia. Along the way he studied with some of the greatest modern masters to incorporate Japanese, Chinese, French and Vietnamese styles into his practices. As a hypnotherapist since 2005, Daniel practices an integrative style of Ericksonian hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Daniel routinely uses one or more modalities to help patients with hormonal issues. This includes regulated herbal prescriptions and supplements to address immune stressors that are everywhere around us including heavy metals, immune suppressants, toxic chemicals and food allergies.

He has taught at university and opened an HIV clinic in the 1990’s. He has worked with hedge-fund managers and in halfway houses with drug-damaged women (he readily admits that he far preferred the latter!). As a specialist in sleep disorders, he lectures on the diverse ways people heal from insomnia, and how anxiety and stress are components of that work. Oh, and whatever you do, don’t forget to Breathe.

Our Philosophy

After practicing acupuncture and hypnosis for twenty-six years I still find people, and the work, fascinating. A good practitioner continues to learn new methods of helping people. Each new patient also begins as a mystery. My training gives me a template for how to unravel that mystery, and Chinese medicine provides us with a template for resolving patient’s issues.

The Blue Phoenix philosophy is simple:

I believe that a practitioner’s ability to help another person is defined by the tools at their disposal. For that reason, I use acupuncture, herbs, hypnosis (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and hormonal balancing. We all know  that today’s stressors are everywhere and require new methods of treatment. Among the tools we use are targeted supplements that help with detoxification from Heavy Metals, chemical, food allergies and immune-suppressants.  The next step is to find the way that will most help the person heal.

This is our pledge to you: It is our job to be there for you. And you will always in control of your treatment process. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
